The Coalition for Online Accountability’s (COA) goal is to enhance and strengthen online transparency and accountability in the domain name space. This includes working to ensure that domain name and IP address WHOIS databases are accurate, verified, updated, and made accessible in response to requests related to online infringement of copyright, as well as to combat trademark infringement, cybersquatting, phishing, and other fraudulent or criminal acts online.
COA also seeks cooperation from domain name service providers to fight abusive use of domain names, including those of copyright piracy websites and services.
